Belfield FM has been going since 1990. Famous past presenters include Ryan Tubridy, of Late Late Show fame, and Rick O'Shea, of 2FM and Today FM fame.

The station has appeared in different guises over the years, including UCD FM, but has been Belfield FM since 2006. In May 2011, a new management team was put in place as the station geared up for its last year in the old studio, in the James Joyce Library Tunnel.
